Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the CTC Cataract Training Center platform ("Platform"), operated by CTC Cataract Training Center ("CTC"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Nature of the service
The Platform is a continuing education service in ophthalmic surgery, intended exclusively for physicians and healthcare professionals in training. It offers interactive protocols, guided activities, a video library, AI-assisted video analyses (Surgical Analysis and Hands Position Analysis) and mentoring with preceptors.
The Platform is for educational purposes only. No content, analysis or recommendation constitutes medical advice, diagnosis or clinical guidance for real cases, nor does it replace the surgeon's professional judgment, your institution's protocols or the laws governing the practice of medicine.
2. Account and eligibility
- Registration requires truthful information, including your professional license (CRM or the equivalent in your country), which may be verified.
- Your account is personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
- Access may be granted through a paid subscription or a courtesy grant with a fixed term, at CTC's discretion.
3. Subscription, payment and cancellation
- Payments are processed by third-party providers (such as Stripe and PayPal). CTC does not store full card details.
- The subscription is recurring and renews automatically until canceled, which you may do at any time from your account, effective from the next billing cycle.
- Courtesy access expires on the date set at the time of the grant; after that date, access to the content requires a subscription.
- Plans may include usage limits (for example, the number of video analyses per month), as described on the plans page.
4. Videos you upload
- You represent that you have the right to upload the videos submitted for analysis and that they do not allow the identification of patients; it is your responsibility to remove any identifiable data before uploading.
- By uploading a video, you grant CTC a license limited to performing the analysis, preceptor review and tracking of your performance.
- Your videos and results are not published or shared with other students.
5. AI-generated analyses
- Analyses are generated by artificial intelligence models from frames extracted from the uploaded video and reviewed by CTC's preceptor team.
- Given their statistical nature, analyses may contain inaccuracies. They are an educational support tool, not a definitive assessment of professional competence.
6. Intellectual property
All Platform content (protocols, videos, texts, the CTC brand, materials by Dr. Sergio Canabrava and team) is protected by copyright and industrial property rights. Reproduction, recording, unauthorized downloading, redistribution or commercial use of the content without CTC's express authorization is prohibited. Violations result in account termination, without prejudice to applicable legal measures.
7. User conduct
Sharing credentials, circumventing technical limits, uploading unlawful content or content that violates third-party rights, and using the Platform for any purpose other than education are prohibited.
8. Limitation of liability
CTC makes reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available and secure but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CTC is not liable for clinical decisions made by the user or for indirect damages arising from use of the Platform.
9. Changes
These Terms may be updated. Relevant changes will be communicated on the Platform and take effect upon publication. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance.
10. Contact and jurisdiction
Questions about these Terms may be sent through the Platform's contact channels. These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, and the courts of CTC's domicile in Brazil are elected as the competent forum, except where consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
